Safety. Support. Healing.

You never expected life to look like this

You know you’ve been through some serious shit in your life and you thought the things you’ve been doing have helped. Talking with a friend, deep breaths, going for a walk, and maybe talking with a therapist. But little things keep popping up that make you wonder if you will ever be done with this roller coaster of unwanted emotions.

You’re feeling stressed at work, like you need to stay on top of your game and the moment you stop everything will fall apart. You’re having arguments with the people closest to you about minor stuff, like whose turn it was to let the dog out, and also feel like you can’t be honest with them about what’s really going on.

You notice how often you’re feeling

  • racing thoughts that won’t stop,

  • tightness in your chest,

  • sudden bursts of anger,

  • a pit in your stomach,

  • overwhelming sadness or dread,

  • tension in your shoulders,

and no matter what you do, none of it really goes away.

You wonder if your trauma will follow you forever…

RELEASE YOURSELF FROM THE WEIGHT OF YOUR PAST

How wonderful would it be for life to be boring? You can go on vacation without making backup plans for your backup plans and feel confident that everything will run smoothly. Your relationships will thrive because you feel comfortable speaking up and you don’t just have to hope your loved ones care about what you need, you see in it their actions. The person you truly are will get to come out and be loved and accepted, not the person you had to be to survive.

You would never skydive without training, safety equipment, backup safety equipment, and practice so why would we dive into trauma without them either?!

Before we go into the nitty gritty life experiences that have led you here, we’re going to make sure you feel safe, comfortable, and know exactly what to expect. After all, this is your life we’re talking about so while I’ll guide sessions to give structure and accountability you’ll be deciding the pace and direction. You have three separate voices within you and all are shouting for attention - the trauma mind voice, the trauma body voice, and the healing mind-body voice. We will work to identify those voices, listen to them, and find healthy ways to bring them together so you aren’t being pulled in a million different directions.

We’ll explore the ways you’ve kept yourself safe in the past, figure out why they aren’t working anymore, and develop new, more effective ways to manage all the shit life throws at you. Once we have these strategies in place we’ll ease our way into addressing your trauma by building trust, safety, and security in these new strategies and our therapeutic relationship. I am here for you no matter where the journey takes us.

Relief Statement

You deserve to live your life on your terms.

  • A: Trauma therapy can take weeks, months, or even years. The length of time depends on factors unique to you and your experiences, such as when and how many traumatic events occurred, how much the events impacted you, and your past and current support systems. No matter how long it takes, you deserve to live a life of peace.

  • A: This isn’t The Trauma Game where we compare people’s experiences and whoever’s the winner gets to go to therapy. If whatever you went through is impacting you enough to ask this question then you would benefit from therapy.

  • A: The strongest people I’ve ever met have been in therapy. By going to therapy you’re showing resilience and courage to face your fears and overcome the obstacles that prevent you from living the life you want to have.
